Termination of Employment (for employees of our Institute working under Article 50/D of Law No. 2547)
Termination of Employment Due to End of Education Period
When the maximum duration of education for research assistants working under Article 50/D of Law 2547 is complete (6 semesters for Master’s students, 12 semesters for PhD students), employment is terminated in accordance with Senate Decition No. 5/2 dated February 7, 2012 in compliance with Article 44/c of Law No. 2547.
Termination of Employment Due to Graduation
Employment of research assistants working under Article 50/D of Law 2547 who have graduated is terminated at the end of the day of graduation approval. The Personnel Department is notified of the research assistant’s graduation approval in a letter, and termination is completed with the approval of the Rector. Termination of Employment Due to Educational Failure
Employment of research assistants dismissed due to educational failure is terminated on the date of the Rector’s official decision, in accordance with the Graduate School of Engineering and Sciences Board of Directors Decision in compliance with the Izmir Institute of Technology Graducate Education Regulatoins.
Termination of Employment (for employees working under article 35 of Law No. 2547 within the scope of Article 50/D of this same law)
Employment of research assistants working under article 35 of Law No. 2547 within the scope of Article 50/D of the same law is terminated under the following conditions:
- The research assistant graduates from his/ her PhD
- The research assistant fails out of his/ her program
- The research assistant fails to complete their education within the maximum allowed time
Personnel who wish to resine must submit a petition to their department including the date on which they wish to resign 15 days before the day of resignation. After the resignation request is approved, termination procedures from the date of resignation.
If our Institute approves requests of personnel to transfer to another institution, the required document is sent to the relevant institution. Termination procedures as part of the transfer process are completed according to Article 62 of State Employee Law 62.
Personnel who wish to retire of their own accord must submit in the relevant documentation to their department at least 15 days before the date of retirement. The employee’s personal file and insurance services (SSK and BAĞ-KUR) are examined to determine whether retirement is possible. If retirement is possible, retirement aproval is prepared and signed by said employee. The Personnel Department sends all documents required for retirement to the Social Security Institution, and retirement procedures are put into place by the Social Security Instution.
